Chinese New Year
Posted: January 27, 2018
Greetings,
It is a great time to get acupuncture if you are having difficulty with the cold weather. When I began receiving acupuncture treatment years ago, one of the first things I noticed was that my feet stopped being cold!
Read below for information about the coming Year of the Earth Dog, ways to use and understand the Kidney channel, and a recipe for a delicious, warming tea.

February 16th, 2018 marks the beginning of an Earth Dog year. While dogs are known for loyalty and generous love, this is a year in which projects related to the social good will be amplified. Slow, steady progress using creativity and intelligence will carry more weight than sudden or forceful efforts. What projects might you commit to this year for your community?

Listen to the Heart
From the bottom of the foot, the Kidney channel ascends the inner leg, and abdomen and flows up either side of the sternum to end at the right and left clavicle. Passing over the heart, the Kidney points on the chest are some of the most spiritually potent points on the body.
Acupuncture is a great resource for supporting and accessing you inner resources for wisdom and clarity.
Antidote for Anxiety
This short video shows you how to use Kidney 1, also called Bubbling Spring, to ground your energy. Many of my patients use this as a complement to acupuncture for managing anxiety.
Heavenly Yogi Tea Recipe
My favorite tea to serve at winter gatherings is Heavenly Yogi Tea. The scent of ginger, cinnamon and cloves simmering on the stove is a great way to welcome to your guests in from the cold. It is also good for your lung health, keeping colds and flu at bay. And it tastes great!
