Heavenly Yogi Tea Recipe

My favorite tea to serve at winter gatherings is Heavenly Yogi Tea. The scent of ginger, cinnamon and cloves simmering on the stove is a great way to welcome to your guests in from the cold. It is also good for your lung health, keeping colds and flu at bay. And it tastes great!

The spices used are said to have the following properties:
– Black pepper works as a blood purifier
– Cardamom pods are a digestive aid
– Cloves are beneficial to the nervous system
– Cinnamon strengthens the bones
– Ginger root provides help in healing colds and the flu as well as increasing energy.

Ingredients (for each cup):

  • 10oz of water (or 1 1/3 cups)
  • 3 whole cloves
  • 4 whole green cardamom pods, cracked
  • 4 whole black peppercorns
  • 1/2 stick cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon black tea
  • splash of milk (can sub non dairy milk)
  • 2 slices fresh ginger root
